The academy

Manonuda is a Martial Arts Academy based in Brussels that aims to the personal development of the individual through the martial art.

The practice model at Manonuda is based on “cross-training”, that is training in different styles and systems, and on the integration and merging of those styles and systems.

This model is structured in the following way:

The head instructor

Gianfranco started martial arts back in 1993 in Italy with Kickboxing and than moved on to Jeet Kune Do (Paul Vunak system), Filipino Martial Arts (Kali), and Grappling.

With strong dedication he than continued his training in Belgium, in the arts of Wing Chun, Chinese Boxing (San Shou/Sanda) and Grappling, and afterword he committed himself in the practice of Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Silat, Muay Thai.

His martial arts background has been enriched by the teaching of high-level instructors such as Rick Tucci, Ron Balicki, Dan Inosanto, Ajarn Chai, Salem Assli, Flavio Ruiz van Hoof, Daniel Lonero, Franz Stroeven, among many others.

In addition to the above mentioned disciplines, he also trained in Boxe, Shoot Wrestling (MMA), Krav Maga, and several self-defense systems.

His approach to training and teaching is based on the accurate structure of programs/curriculums of the different arts, and at the same time on creativity.

He shares his martial arts knowledge with those who are seriously motivated, and he always continue the process of self-improvement and learning.

He is the founder of the Manonuda Martial Arts Academy.

Affiliation with SEAMA

Manonuda is affiliated with SEAMA (South East Asian Martial Arts) an association founded by Flavio Ruiz van Hoof who is the representative in Belgium for the Martial Arts Research Systems of Ron Balicki (full instructor under Dan Inosanto).
