Jeet Kune Do

The Jeet Kune Do (JKD)is the result of Bruce Lee‘s research and martial arts development.

Rather than a finished and established system, the Jeet Kune Do is considered an art in constant evolution because it doesn’t have “a form” but it can assume “any form”.

The foundation of the Jeet Kune Do as a concept is the Jun Fan Gung Fu (also called Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do), which represents the progression of the art while Bruce Lee was alive, and therefore could be considered as a set style.

The “Jun Fan” smoothly merges several arts together, the main ones being Wing Chun, Boxing, Savate, Fencing , and Wrestling.

The Jeet Kune Do covers all combat ranges:

  • Kicking Range
  • Boxing Range
  • Trapping Range
  • Grappling Range

Key points of this art:

  • Mobility
  • Simplicity
  • Economy of motion
  • Direct, unpredictable action
  • Fakes
  • Strongest side forward (closer to the target)
  • Interception principle (stop-hit)
