Boxing: Range Management & Footwork Drill
This is a simple but effective Boxing drill to develop a sense of timing for footwork & range management without relying on the hands. I usually teach it as a progression in 4 phases:
- 1) Only Footwork (Gloves Down)
- 2) Footwork & Head Pull-Back (Gloves Down)
- 3) Gloves Up but without using the hands
- 4) Use the hands to defend when necessary
