Kickboxing: Pushing Long Guard & High Kick

An excerpt from the “pre-fight warm-up” for a Kickboxing (K1) Fight with my student Vincent. Here I ask him to execute a combination we’ve been working on at that time: Pushing Long Guard & High Kick.

In the last bit of the clip, I charge him a little bit as I wanted him to “stay connected” even when he loses sight of the opponent for a while after the kick, and I intentionally throw a sloppy blast to create confusion, and not caring about defending, to simulate a dynamic that I see happening in most amateur fights, because I wanted him to “revert to structure” when chaos occurs.
