Silat: Legs Wedge With Leg Takedown

Silat takedown from the ground, with a Legs Wedge with your own leg. The first bit shows the technique with smooth execution, then I cover a breakdown of the position and the mechanics, explaining especially what you don’t want to do, like positioning your leg on the knee line rather than between the crouch and the knee.

You want to extend the leg like a bar and flex the foot at the same time and use the momentum of the rotation, all at once. You should also be ready for failure and not end up in a compromised position should the technique not work as expected.
