Stick Fighting: Hand Resetting Principle

Demonstrating the importance of recovering or resetting the hand to the center, after swinging the stick for an attack. You’ll fight the way you train, so make sure to make it a habit to always pull the hand back “home”, so that the stick is in a position to defend your head and body after your attack.

Here you can see that I demonstrate how I use to train this principle within the Diamond Power Strike Drill, which is a classic Dog Brothers drill. They use to twirl the stick, actually, whereas I like to “shorten” the circle of the swinging hand and reset it to the center right away.

Remember, in single Stick Fighting you only have one weapon for both the attack and the defense, so make smart use of it.
